Getting to Kempsey by Road
From the South
The Macleay Valley Coast is approximately 419km (5 hours) from Sydney City Centre, north on the Pacific Highway. Newcastle is 280km (about 3 1/2 hours) south on the Pacfic Highway and Port Macquarie is 49km (35 minutes) to the south.
From the West
From Tamworth it is 308km (under 4 hours) to the Macleay Valley Coast via the Oxley Highway.
From Armidale the Macleay Valley Coast can be accessed via the Waterfall Way and is 249km taking about 3 1/2 hours driving time.
From Armidale the Macleay Valley Coast can also be accessed via Armidale Road which is 179km taking about 2 1/2 hours driving time. Note: Armidale Road beyond Bellbrook is not suitable for caravans and large vehicles. The road is unsealed north west of Bellbrook to Jeogla and is single lane. Please give way to vehicle travelling down Armidale Road.
From the North
From Brisbane it is 509km (approximately 6 hours dirve) via the Pacific Highway, 433km (5 hours) from the Gold Coast and 114km (1 1/2 hours) from Coffs Harbour.

Two services daily from Sydney stopping at Kempsey travelling to Brisbane and one service which terminates at Grafton.
Two services leave Brisbane daily stopping at Kempsey on the way to Sydney and one service from Grafton daily.
Getting to Kempsey by Coach/Bus
With both Premier Motors and Greyhound servicing Sydney to Brisbane along the Pacific Highway, Kempsey has five coach services travelling to Brisbane and five services travelling south to Sydney daily.
The Tamworth to the Holiday Coast Service runs three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) connecting the New England area to the Mid North Coast. By-Bus will commence this service as of January 2010.
Busways offers three daily services each way from Kempsey to Port Macquarie.

Getting to Kempsey By Air
Travelling by your own plane, helicopter or other aircraft fly into the Kempsey Airport, though transportation will need to be orgainsed as there is no car hire in Kempsey.
The closest Airports to the Macleay Valley Coast are Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. Other airports within three hours drive are Armidale, Taree, Newcastle and Grafton.
Note: Fly into one of the nearby airports and then hire a car to get around the Macleay Valley Coast.
