The Inaugural and much anticipated Gladstone Community "Earth, Water, Fire, Air" Markets will be held on Sunday from 9am to 2pm at Memorial Park, Gladstone, on the beautiful Macleay riverbank opposite the Heritage Hotel. The 23rd Annual Triathlon will start at the Trial Bay Gaol Campground in the Arakoon State Recreation Area and consists of a 500m swim and a 26km bicycle ride and 6km run around picturesque Trial Bay. The Malibu Longboard Classic has been strongly contested since 1989. The Classic has grown to become "The Event" on the longboard surfing calendar. It has become the biggest amateur longboard event in Australia. This event is always held on the last full weekend in May .Crescent Head Surf Reserve will host the event, at the newly appointed Surf Reserve and all those with a connection to the surf culture of Crescent Head and who, enjoy watching longboards in action, are invited to be part of this wonderful "back to Crescent" weekend.

Marathon commences at Trial Bay Gaol - Marathon starts at 7.00am - half  marathon 7.30am, 10 km run 8.00am, 5km leisure walk at 8.30am. The course is a scenic riverside run along the banks of the Macleay River and back to Trial Bay Gaol. The marathon is run every June long weekend.(Sunday)

Crescent Head Sky Show will be held on the Crescent Head Reserve. This family fun day will include: markets, Fly over at 10am, Rod casting competition with 1st and 2nd prizes from Alvey for categories including 16 plus and 10yrs to 15yrs, Kiddies rides, Lions club refreshments in the Surf Club, First Aid tent, Car Show with a display for the club,Lots of beach activities kicking off at 1.30pm including wheelbarrow race: sack race: egg and spoon race: sandmodelling plus lots more, Skateboard competiotion from 2.30pm, with a Finale of fireworks at 6pm.  You can enjoy the Lion's Club BBQ all day & into the evening.  This event is always held on the Sunday of the June long-weekend.  Contact: Joanne Watts 02 65 660 051

The Crescent Head Sky Show is an alcohol free event and 2,000 people are expected to attend throughout the day. Activities will start at 10am. The Lions Club would like to inform the public that the reserve road will be closed from 5.30am to 7.30pm.

Crescent Head Country Club will host Crescent Head Sky Show entertainment by The Little Ripper Band from 2pm to 6pm. Crescent Head Country Club are proud sponsers of the Sky Show.

Check the Road - In Crescent Head, Reserve Road (from the shops to the beach) will be closed from 5.30am to 7.30pm on Sunday for the Sky Show.

All sections of the Kempsey Eisteddfod will go ahead this year. The 2012 Kempsey Eisteddfod will start on Monday June 18th and run until Sunday June 24,  2012. It will start with the vocal and instrumental sections, followed by the speech and drama sections. The dance eisteddfod is scheduled for Saturday June 30th until Friday July 6th 2012. The syllabus for all sections will be available soon.

The first day and night of the eisteddfod will be run at the Kempsey High School and the following days will be held at Kempsey Uniting Church Hall.

The 2012 Kempsey Dance Eisteddfod will start on Wednesday the 30th June to 6th July, 2012. More then 100 sessions will be staged during the week long event at the Meville High School Auditorium.

The Dance Eisteddfod will include a large variety of different styles of dance including ballet, tap, contemporary and jazz.

The Crescent Head Public School P & C will host Opening Night for their Art Exhibition to be held on August 13th, at Wombat Beach Resort.. Everyone is welcome to come along to a fantastic evening of art, music and fun. Cost: $25.00 per person.

There will be a huge number of items exhibited including ceramics, sculpture, woodwork, fabric craft, jewellery, photography and a variety of artistic mediums. This is the 12th year of this successful art exhibition. The exhibition will be open on August 14th & 15th August 2012.

Relay For life is the heart and soul activity of The Cancer Council NSW. It is so much more than a fundraiser. Relay For Life allows us to honour cancer survivors, remember those who have lost the battle, educate the community on early detection and preventing cancer.It is a very potent activity to achieve the mission of defeating cancer.Kempsey's Relay for Life has been planned for September 18 and 19 and will be held at Kempsey Showground starting at 2.00pm Saturday and concluding around 9.00am Sunday morning.An enthusiastic group of local community members have come together as the planning committee and they are already hard at work planning an event filled with fun, festivities and celebrating the fact so many people survive cancer. The committee is very excited at being able to hold this community event in Kempsey and are looking forward to seeing a great turn out of teams. If you have previously participated you may already have an idea of who will be in your team. If this is a first time event for you start thinking about who could be part of your team to help make this event a success.

October long week-end promises to be an exciting time on the Macleay Valley Coast with lots of excitement for all.

 Kundabung Rodeo highlights will include bull riding events featuring some of Australia's best cowboys. This is a truly great day out for the whole family, so come along and enjoy the fun and entertainment. Mark this event on your calendar as one, not to be missed.

The gates will open at 10am and the show begins at noon. Organisers are promising the meanest bull, with the best riders out to tame them. Along with the traditional rodeo events there will be lots of entertainment in the side show alley, including a jumping castle, chair-o-plane rides, aeroplane rides, giant slippery dip, jumbo slide, mini jeeps, face painting and laughing clowns and more.

Tickets: $25.00 Adult and $12.00 for Children under 15. A family pass for two adults and two children is available for $60.00

There will be a lucky gate prize of $200.00. A barbecue and refreshments will also be available along with a public bar operating at pub prices.

The Rodeo grounds are located 10km south of Kempsey on the Pacific Highway, NSW and 30kms north of Port Macquarie.
